The Freedom of Simplicity

The Gospel simplicity is very liberating to the Christian who embraces it and makes it a part of his daily life. Our world offers many things to improve our lives, give us more comfort, gain us a better name, and serve our fleshly desires. These things are costly and many times add complexity to our lives. They can bring a level of stress to acquire them or maintain them. They often beg for more and better things just like them.

Temperance

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Gal 5:22–23). Do we understand what a Christian's temperance looks like in the heart and actions in today's world? How would we describe temperance? Is it self-control, moderation, honorable behavior, personal integrity? Another question we should consider is, Is it forced on a person, or is it a voluntary choice one makes?

God's Will for Physical Healing

"Lord, please heal our sister if it is Your will." How often have we heard an earnest prayer such as this or even offered one ourselves? Do we struggle with the last part, "If it is Your will?" Why do we pray this way?
Some teach that healing is always God’s will. They point out that Jesus never turned away anyone who came in faith seeking healing. Is such teaching Scriptural?

Contentment & Stewardship

A renowned US President has said, “You can have anything you want if you want it badly enough. You can be anything you want to be, do anything you set out to accomplish if you hold to that desire with singleness of purpose.” Our society has unequivocally embraced this ideology. “Believe in yourself,” we are told. “Live life on your terms.” Can the disciple of Christ live by these maxims? Is this worldview compatible with Christ’s command to take up your cross and follow Him?

The Automated Earth

The Earth has become automated in so many aspects. There seems to be no limit to how far humans will apply automation. It may end up being in everything we touch. But are there dangers in automation that the Christian should consider?

Emotional Connection VS Emotionalism

The Shema has truth yet for you and me.
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart (Deut 6:4-6).
Jesus quotes this in Matthew 22:37, in Mark 12:29-30, and in Luke 10:27, indicating this is still the first part of the Greatest Commandment.

Morally Pure In A Corrupt Society

We will start with a few definitions.
Moral has to do with right and wrong behavior. Pure is free from moral fault or guilt, marked by chastity, which is personal integrity. Pure contains nothing that does not properly belong and where the inside mirrors the outside.
As the title suggests, this article will be about doing right and being free from moral fault and guilt, living a life of integrity, and keeping our inside and outside free of anything that doesn't properly belong.

Are You Real?

Recently Facebook announced their corporate name change from Facebook to Meta. Meta comes from their vision of the future, a Metaverse. What is this Metaverse they are referring to? It is the current Facebook on steroids. Currently, people post on Facebook about themselves, what they are doing, and what they want others to see in their lives. In the Metaverse, you will create a virtual world to live in and interact with other people.
