The Christian's Testimony

Does it really matter what my neighbors think of me? If I have a right relationship with God and the church, should I be concerned with the perceptions of someone who I hardly know. What is my responsibility? Christ admonished his disciples to “Go ye therefore and teach all nations…” (Matt 28:19a). regardless of where we find ourselves geographically; we are commanded to teach the Good News of the Gospel to a world dwelling in the darkness of sin. The testimony we have in the eyes of our neighbor will certainly have an influence on the effectiveness of our teaching.

Seeing God in Psalm 19

In Psalm 19, we see God in three ways. We see Him in creation, in His Word, and His work in our everyday life.

In God’s creation, we see fantastic displays of His greatness and power. We have the sun, moon, and stars that set in their place each day. There is no place where the earth does not feel the heat from the sun, and no place where the earth does not see the light from the sun, moon, and stars. “There line is gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world.”

The Place of a Christian Periodical

The apostle Paul recognized that he would soon leave this earthly life when he wrote to Timothy, “The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.” He clearly understood the importance of the printed word in providing for the needs of the church both present and future. The parchments would continue to speak to church generations long after the hand that scribed them had been stilled in death.

Watching the Signs

They rise high above the treetops. They emit an electronic glare that brightens the night sky. Their daily message changes even slightly and we take notice. We anxiously share our thoughts concerning recent sightings and give attention when others share their interpretations of the ominous messages blanketing our land. It seems that many of my friends have recently turned into sign seekers. Have you been noticing the signs recently? "I saw it for…" I was able to fill up for…" I think by summer it will be…"

What is our Vision?

Anabaptists in the Reformation were often called "the radicals." They took an active stand to call the church back to the Bible. They went forth witnessing and preaching to everyone they could. When called into question about their faith, they valiantly shared the Word knowing it probably would mean torture and death. They were hated, persecuted, and killed for this active faith in God. Many would not back off or compromise their faith because of personal danger. They were men of "conquest" for the kingdom even though sometimes it may have looked like defeat.

The Sprinkling of the Nations

Prophecy is man's thing, not God's thing. Prophecy is the English word by which man attempts to understand what God already is by eternal attribute. History then is man's view of Sovereign events and solely determined by where a man stands along God's timetable. In point of fact, the word timetable is simply a meager effort to explain God's eternal attribute a feeble human attempt to understand God. However, whatever God is in this facet of His Being, He has deemed that both Himself and humankind involve a time perspective.

Missionary Journeys of the Apostle Paul

These lessons trace the journeys of Paul as he took the Gospel into the regions beyond. He related first to the Jew but then also to pagan Gentiles. It is amazing how much our understanding of how Christianity is to be lived out in everyday life is enhanced by watching Paul relate to the challenges he faced. Be prepared to dig deeply into God's Word. These lessons were prepared for youth in a Bible School setting and are intensive in nature.
