"...broad is the way that leadeth unto destruction.." Forgetting God is shown by failure to truly worship Him and forgetting His goodness in the past. The downward path continues with adultery or fornication (disregarding God's standard of holiness). Pride and being spiritually ignorant were the last two steps brought out.
